How: jet pack, harness, backplate

New Hunter
Does anyone have any pictures of how their back armor, harness and jet pack are situated? I have a MOW jet pack, a scuba harness kit, and RKDs armor. I can't seem to het anything to sit right. It seems the harness just wants to push the armor away from the body and the backplate doesn't like to allow access to the harness so the jet pack could clip to it at the bottom. I haven't even attached the armor to the vest yet and it doesn't seem to want to to sit right.

thanks in advance

i always had to push the bottom part of my armor behind the bar on the harness to clip the jetpack on. The armor ended right about where the bar was. My backplate was only attached via the shoulder studs. Once the pack was on it pushed the back armor against the body. Also if the armor is not attached to the vest it likely wont sit right as you kind of need it all togther and on you for that to work properly.

I agree with DVH, the back armor only needs to be attached to the collar, which is attached to the vest, with the back plate behind the bar. Then the lower hooks on the jetpack rest on this bar with the straps coming through the back plate & using the rings to hang the upper hooks on. The harness may push the back plate out slightly but it should sit between your shoulder blades & fit in the small of your back. If set up right it is very comfortable & doesn't pull on your shoulders.

Here are a couple of photos of how mine is set up & sits.

Ok, awesome that helps. I was just suprised at how tight the bottom of the backplate is against the bottom support bar. Did you have to bend the support bar on your harness, it looks like it, and I think i will need to on mine as well.

yep, what toolguy said/shows is how it should be! Mine may have been bent slightly i dont remember. lol. But it definately sat just like Toolguy shows there.

Mine sits the same way. When I was going for approval, my adviser reminded me that there should only be about 1.5 inches of the white straps showing. I had to bend my support bar a little to allow the jetpack's bottom clips to sit properly on the support bar. For positioning, I have the top of my harness sitting near the bottom of my shoulder blades. Since I am 6'4", I had to have mine sit a bit low so the support bar would be in the right position (figuring out the length of the white straps was a pain.)

The bar is bent to match up with the contour of the jetpack so that the hooks slide over it. Also the back plate sits snug against the bar. The one photo shows a gap between the bar & the back plate, but this was a mock up of when I was trying to get everything lined up with spacing. Only photo I could find showing how things sit. Yes this is a pain to get it to sit right but after it is done you don't have to mess with it.
