Horsehair Wookie Braids by Julie: Signup & Interest

i don't think i really got any good pics of them, but the biggest thing i noticed about the new braids is that the industrial velcro on my costume seemed to have no interest in sticking to them!

that has been the downfall of my last 2 sets of braids, so this makes me happy :)

Here's a pic of what I am calling the Extended Set. I've still got to glue the knots in place & trim up the sinew.

Looks cool! Are you doing another run sometime after this first set of 6 is done?

Is it just the lighting or is there a gray colored tail hanging down with the rest of the tails at the bottom on the left?

It's either a gray, blond or white one.....it looks different colors in the various pics I've seen of it. The blond one in the pic I posted last night of the extended set represents that particular braid. I'll try to get a shot of JP wearing all of the braids this weekend, so everyone can see how the set looks/hangs.

Paging BH795 & Loanstar: Please check your private messages.

If I do another run it won't be until after C4, also the prices would go up. Just the black & white braid takes about 1 hour to do & the 2 four turn Turk head knots take about 2 hours each to braid & completely tighten.

Another find on the "gray-ish" braid. It's just half a braid!!! It looks like one of the normal wide ones (like the blond and black ones), but chopped in half, with the thick end tied around all the rest of the other ones right behind the shoulder bell with 3 groups of black twine, then it loops around behind the arm and connects under the arm right about where the other mystery dark mini-braid connects to the full black/white mini braid, and the tail just hangs off that point.......

Thank you for the pics. I hadn't been able to locate any from these angles.

That's what this board is all about.....helping each other make great costumes. :)

After looking at the pics close up I can tell you that the gray braid is made from synthetic hair by it's sheen & thickness. I have some dark gray horsehair I can use for that one, however it's some darker. I'll take some pics of it and post them for comparison this evening or tomorrow.

Paging BH795 & Loanstar: Please check your private messages and email. I need some confirmation from you both. If you are no longer interested please let me know. I have people on a waiting list for these.

If anyone knows either of these members, please tell them to get in touch with me about their braids.

If I don't hear back from BH795 or Loanstar by Friday February 9th, I will be removing their names from the list.

Julie

These are looking great! Keep up the excellent progress. I love seeing the stages of improvement! I'm definitely interested in a set when they become available again.

If there is any chance of getting one for C4 please let me know! :)
