Blaster Hasbro ROTJ Blaster Repaint

Hi everyone. It's been a long time since I visited and longer since I posted, but I'm back to browsing threads and tinkering on my never ending PreProduction 2 Fett.

Anyway,

My sister-in-law asked if I could repaint my nephew's Hasbro toy blaster and make it look more realistic. Well, I was glad to have an excuse to paint and get into my Fett mindset again. :)

The first thing to do was to sand off the black decal on the stock. After that I filled in some of the screw holes, seams and gaps with bondo. Follow that up with primer, a base coat of Tamiya battleship gray, dry-brush the high spots with silver, add a few rust streaks and do a wash made of glass cleaner and gunmetal over the entire blaster.

Here's my nephew and my sister-in-law at Dragon Con

Here's a link to my Picasa Web album on the repaint.

Please let me know if the link doesn't work and I'll fix it. ;)

I hope you all enjoy the pics.
I thought about using the toy blaster as a base for an adult sized one, but the scale was just not right. If anyone has suggestions on scratch-building an ROTJ blaster, please share. :D
