Harness/ammo belt question

So i have a question..on my pursuit for accuracy wearing my Fett suit, i noticed something off. In the promo shots from the back, the harness is not seen at all. It doesnt look like the ammo belt is over it, but im not sure. On mine, you see the harness sticking out below the jetpack. Now i have the lower hooks where they are show on the heilman photos. I have a MOW pack in these pics, so i know its a little undersized, but i dont think it should affect this. I COULD just put my ammo belt over the harness, but i dont know if thaths "Correct". Honestly im not sure if anyone knows lol. Anywho, Heres a comparison of mine and the promo shot.

So, how do you guys set up this part of your suit?

Hmmm....

I didn't seem to have this issue:

Granted, the girth is hanging a bit lower...but that's besides the point.

A few things come to mind -

1) Angle of the photo....it looks like the promo shot is taken at a different angle - we can definitely see the underside of your jetpack, where we can't on the promo shot. It's possible that it's visible, but being hidden by the angle of the jetpack.

2) Would your height have anything to do with the difference? How tall are you Lou? Just spitballin' here. Does your metal bar go through the bottom of your vest? (did you need to make holes for it?)

3) How tight is the harness on you? Is it sagging down? Tightening the straps could bring the bottom of the harness upwards.

On mine, the metal bar goes right along the bottom of the back armor. Even a smidgen above the bottom. Actually....looking at the comparisons...I could probably do with some lowering of my jetpack.

Hope this helps :)

I dress my buddy Anthony at all our troops & he is the Legions 1st Lv3 Empire Fett. I've never had this problem before. He puts his harness under his vest & just the bottom brace thingy sticks out under his vest.Seems his harness sits up higher. Could it be that yours is too long or too low?

Ok yea, this is interesting.

Well the thing is, no matter where the harness is on my back, the pack will sit in the same place in relation to the harness, and the bottom of it [the harness] sticks out. The 2 hooks on the pack that hook onto the bar are mounted all the way on the bottom edge of the pack, as in this heilman photo:

The harness' horizontal bar goes through the vest yes, at the bottom edge of the vest, but everything under that sticks out from the vest.

Its a BooBoo Fett harness. Im thinking maybe the bar is too high on the harness? Although i would think his was correct, but maybe its not? The bar sits right above where the trapazoid rings start, its right at the bottom edge of my pack, and you can see in the pic how much harness is bellow the bar.

The bar runs across the bottom of my armor as well.

Now, i could move the bottom hooks up higher on the pack so the jetpack conceals the bottom of the harness, but i would then have to hike everything else up higher and i dont think that would work out too well.

The other option is to just put the belt over the harness..if i did that taking this same pic again would look almost identical..if i was thinner like Jeremy lol

Well looking at this photo, i think the bar on mine is a little bit higher, maybe by 1/2"-1" ....but, i guess its possible the belt is over the harness in the above photo. Even though this isnt Jeremy, he is thin and it seems to hug the body closely.

Ok..i just checked my Harness..the bar is in the same place but it is a wider/taller piece of metal, so it holds the pack a little higher. I suppose this could be the issue. Also the hooks that were on my pack seem more shallow than the ones on the Heilman photos. So it may be the combination of the 2 making it slightly off. I may be able to replace th bar with a thinner one and just raise the lower hooks by 1/2" i think that mnay solve the issue.

Mind you this isnt a "problem" everything is comfy and all, i just noticed with these 2 photos that you dont see the harness at all on the promo pic....and my OCD kicked in LOL

Oh and Aaron, going by that ESB promo pic, your pack is sitting to high, and mine a little low lol

The thing about adjusting the pack now is that in order to do so, I would have to re-drill new holes and possibly move my straps that are already stitched in. Might not sound like much but I remember how much of a pain adjusting the pack was.

I think as long as you're comfy, and not being choked or anything, I'd leave it as is :) Because if you change one part (like the metal bar) you have to move everything else to compensate right?

If i repolaced the bar with a thinner one, it wouldnt change much else but have the pack cover more of the harness. Its so little bit not much would need to be adjusted. I actually have a new vest already so i would have to redo the holes anyhow. What i usually do though is make them taller than needed to allow for some adjustment.

Also, When those pics were taken, the harness was sitting a little low and i just adjusted the straps and got it to sit higher after the fact.

BigDane, as for the strapping configuration, that pic i posted above is the only one i have aside from this one:

Maybe they can help ya?

Lou,

If you have a BoobooFett harness the bar is mounted much higher. If you look in the install guide he put out for his harness it shows the harness sitting below the bottom of the jetpack.

It looks like the bar on his harness is .750" to 1" & sits a little high in relation to the bottom of the harness. If you were to move the bar down to where it is flush on top with the support piece running between the tubes it may help with how the harness sits in relation to the jetpack.

This is how my pack sits on me & how my harness looks. If anything it is sitting a tad low.

i think your 100% right man. I think if i moved the bar down a touch and replaced it with a thinner bar it would fix the issue. I think yours looks near perfect. I can see the ammo belt, but i do not see the harness :)

What harness is that on the bottom there layed out on the floor?

Lou, not trying to derail this but I have a question. Does the nemrod then hang on the lower strap with the U.S. Diver buckle, or is there a second scuba weight belt and a total of 2 U.S. Diver buckles?

From what i understand it hangs on the lower belt of the harness that the divers buckle is on.

I always had mine on my ammo belt with a snap on the back side of the strap snapped to my jumpsuit so it didnt pull the belt down.
