Fuel/Air Lines to Gauntlet's.

Jr Hunter
Hi folks

I'm currently putting together a Jodo Kast.

While putting together the gauntlet's hoses it occured to me that he probably would have had some kind of fuel feed leading to the Flamer unit.

I've used Coloured Water to indicate this & think it looks okay.

Question is: what are your views for the other hoses: Air, Fuel, Power supply ?

Imagine it's been discussed before on here, but I couldn't find it & would love to hear your views.

Thanks

Ya know, honestly...i never thought about it lol. I did however think, on the ESB fett, theres no hose going to the gauntlet that has the flame unit...where is it getting its fuel from? lol

The other gauntlet has 1 hose. If i think about it now...maybe for compressed air for the darts?

Very interesting topic. Id be curious as well to see what people think.

Well i dont think he meant REALLY FUNCTIONAL, i know i didnt,...i meant in theory. Obviously it was "SUPPOSED" to do "SOMETHING" I dont really think any of the do-dads on fetts suit actually worked lol.

Which reminds me...i have this co-worker, thats a big Star Wars fan, and sometimes i babble to him about costume stuff, and i sometimes forget, hes not really all there. He's on meds of some sort and cant really think normally. He's 34 lives with his mom and has only had this one job...in a basement cutting muslin to sell to art students.....but anyway...i told him i got an MQ-1 calculator to use the keypad for the gauntlet and he said something along the lines of "ooooh thats cool, then you dont have to use the switches to do things, you can just push the buttons!" Thats when i remembered he wasnt all there lol....anyway...sorry for the derailment...carry on lol..

Speaking of gauntlet hoses, what do most people purchase for their costumes? I have been looking around, but haven't had much luck finding any for sale anywhere. Are people buying these from pet stores like for aquariums or is it something different?

Thanks in advance,
Terrantula

home depot. Plumbing dept :) its reinforced tubing(with the criss cross threads in it. I just eyeballed the thickness and got about 2ft worth

The Braided Hose are roughly £1/metre here in the UK.

Yes - I meant hypothetically on the working's of them. Has anyone actually done it or seen them with anything 'fuel like' in on a 501st cleared suit?

As suggested above I imagine it would have been compressed Air for the Dart's.

against the rules to speak of trying to do it, but no i havent seen anyone with working stuff that would be pretty stupid I think asking to get hurt

No I meant for canon purpose only maybe the flame thrower wasn't functional so there was no need for boba to use an extra line from the pack to the gauntlet if it was functional he probably would have torched skywalker and solo alive and wouldn't have had his sarlaac mishap lol I didn't seriously think they had a working flamethrower on set lmao

No, I don't mean has anyone put real fuel in the hoses.

I meant in a costuming capacity - has anyone bothered putting coloured water (etc) in their Fuel lines for effect?

On the Supertrooper right gauntlet the hose had electrical purposes:

This way it activated a torch and the jetpack thrusters. Altough on the right gauntlet there was a laser gun too (this was converted to the whipcord on the ROTJ suit) I think its functionality whould be animated (the same way they animated the left gauntlet shot in ROTJ) in case this suit managed to be on the movie(s).

The left gauntlet had two hoses and these served only the flametrower; one hose was for the fuel and the other was for the flamethrower lighter switch:

All hoses were attached to the jetpack.
