hope you get better as well, i know i sound like a broken record but... i can't wait!!

whoohoo!!

WOW! The bells look great. I think the damage looks very nice. Your attention to details is amazing. I can't wait to see this armor in person. Keep up the great work.

I believe this as well. The "Buckethead" video confirms it to an extent. Jango pre-production, showed a left gauntlet with the calc pad spot on it, as well as an obvious soft detail "boba" right gauntlet. The chest pieces appeared to be "boba" as well. They most likely "modified all of those castings to fit the new "millennium" look they were shooting for. And the chest pieces, well, there's no reason they couldn't have just simply been trimmed. I took one of my plates recently and trimmed it to match the screen cast jango plate that I have. And sure enough, it was doable. About a half inch all the way around, and of course changing the shape in the process. If I can find it in my "pile" out there, I'd be happy to share it.

But what's MORE important to me as a "Boba" guy in all this Jango talk ;) , is where exactly did they get the castings of the "Boba" parts anyway? Personally I can't see that they would have spent time re-inventing the wheel and re-creating those parts. Even 3d scan like they did the ROTS Vader bucket. So does that mean they cast a couple of archive items? And if so, that could mean there ARE molds of the armor floating around ;) I think about this scenario all the time  And what about the jet pack? Good grief lucy ... it makes me tingle a 'lil bit  Unfortunately though, it's been said that when they wrapped up production for Episode II, that most of the molds in the prop dept. were destroyed. Not sure how reliable this is. You can never be sure of anyone these days.

GREAT SHOULDERS BRO!! (y)

And I think you're dead on with the whole Jango theory....(y)
It's like you said, why would they re-invent the wheel???

Great post!(y)

I think you hit the nail on the head. I have said many times that I felt the helmet and armor were from archive pieces, though I don't believe they did or ever will allow a casting to be made of anything in the archive, but I think your correct about the lineage. There use of 3D scanning with the MR helmet, the Vader ROTS helmet and other props leads me to think that this was done with the armor and the helmet. Never even thought about the gauntlets though but that would make sense as well. I know they still have various molds from the old trilogy but the shape of them is unknown by me as well as what they have and what walked out the door. In pics I have only seen piles of them in storage so who knows for sure. But I am sure they used anything and everything they had to cut corners and keep it "accurate" with out investing to much time into creating those pieces. From my own experience with 3D scanning and using a prototyping machine at a former employer it takes an individual about a week or so to clean up and prep a 3Dmax file for prototyping so this would be a good way to get the gist of a prop and recreate it in some way or in this case alter it with ease to fit an actor much like the helmet.

I wish they would allow the art department the ability to make true castings of the pieces though. Would be beyond cool to know they in some point down the road were originally ROTJ or ESB boba pieces.

You have done a marvelously job of recreating all of this. Just about any dementionality that was over looked has been revisited with a good eye for detail, and you dont just have one... you got two. ;)

I am looking forward to seeing the next get of costumers wearing this stuff.

Thanks guys :cheers

K, the list is drawing to a close. I know it's marked as full, but there are still a couple of members that have not decided yet, and some that have been moved in to replace others. I have to nip that soon so I know how much extra material that needs to be ordered for sure to cover what I don't already have on hand. So the another 48 hours and there will be no more "wiggle room". Just a heads up. PM me if you are wanting to postpone, as there are a couple of members that would like to slide in there.

Thanks again everyone for their kindness :)

Hey, FP - I sent you a PM a couple of days ago... I would like to get a set of ESB armor, if there is still room on the list? I'm ready to send payment as soon as you give me the green light? Please LMK if you can fit me in? The armor looks beautiful and I'd hate to loose out on an opportunity like this? Please PM or email me at marcvs66'at'yahoo'dot'com.

Cheers - marcus

to fettpride:
may i ask why i got taken off the list? i pm'ed you over and over , standing by with the payment, but you never replied to my pm's or mail?

Volkerc - Your last PM before today was on the 5th. It is VERY easy for these to be overlooked as early on as that was. So when I posted a "48 Hour" waring bell a few days ago for the remaining members on the list to make a decision, you could have sent a PM then reminding of your interest. It is a mistake on my part for overlooking or forgetting your earlier PM, so I do apologize. But I would ask that you have a little more patience in the future. There will be another PM on it's way shortly.

Thank you ...

Marcvs66, tk1455, Indy_Solo , Ciscotiger, and Grifter ... still need to get PM's out to you guys. Sorry for the delay. I've been sorting the list, and what kind of availability there is. Hang tight. Thanks for your patience.

Thanks FettPride, I appreciate all that you've done to make such a outstanding Fett costume second to none. When you get the chance to PM will be fine, it's the busiest time of the year, so I understand. Wishing you and your family Happy Holidays and a Merry Christmas!
