first time aluminum fett build

So I have tinkered with bits and pieces of the fett suit I have been intending to build for years. The problem has been that I dont like things that aren't functional and well built, and until now I never had the time, money, or tools to build it how I wanted. I am not planning on making an exact replica, but I'm hoping it will come pretty close. I just finished forming the chest, shoulders, and collar armor, but I need to get more supplies to continue. I have been building all the pieces out of very thick aluminum, so lets hope it comes out nice. Unfortunately my camera is broken so I will have to post cell pics for the time being.

thank you

i finished cutting and shaping the shoulders, chest pieces, stomach, and butt plate then gave them a quick run in the blast furnace to give them a nice carbon coating the cleaned it off. The reason I used a carbon coating is because i like how it stains the metal. I want my armor to have a strange dark metal look. If I do it this way, it should have the same dark look if it get scratched. Im building it very durable so I can play p-ball in it. I'm considering not even adding battle damage so it will be created naturally. I previously built a cast off a resin model I bought off ebay a couple years ago. Hopefully if things go well, I can recast it in aluminum.

why thank you. I'm having a very hard time with the gauntlets. I cut out all the pieces for the left gauntlet out of very thin aluminum. Now I'm trying to bend them all accurately but I just cant see them turning out nice.

you may have to use some filler to get the cracks where the ali may not line up...just a thought...the armor is amazing by the way...

haha thanks, it was a pain.

I was hoping to avoid filler but I suppose that may be the only option. I want to build a stamp press but then I would have to sculpt each piece.

The gauntlets are still being frustrating. Im going to try and pick up more metal tonight to finish the back plate and knees. I'm considering sculpting the gauntlets then over laying them with the aluminum I cut out from the templates. I see a little bondo in my future.

I would suggest getting thin, ducting metal from home depot, and a nice set of tin snips (you probably have those) and building them from WOF templates.

Wicked beards are of similar design, and they come out solid and impressive.

thats exactly what I did but it is really hard to get a clean bend and not end up with a pinched look on the corners. I used to have more delicate tools somewhere that would be perfect but they seem to have lost themselves
