a few general questions about painting armor/bucket from a noob.

Kyle Katarn

Jr Hunter
I started painting my armor and my lid, it's ROTJ by the way. This is my first real attempt at it and i had a few question:

1. Would hunter green work for both the helmet and the (green) pieces of the armor?

2. I primed my lid with a dark gray then gave it a few of silver and then some black on the mandibles and the around the visor area, it basically looks like a Jango bucket with the blue swapped out for for black, will post pics later. would this work for the darker green areas and the black under the claret wine or should I have given a few coats of green on the whole lid then messed with the parts that need to go over black?

3. I noticed a spot on my gauntlets where i missed the clarte wine, so I sprayed some on and it came out chunky, what could that be caused from and hwo could could i fix it?

4. Oh, yeah, i pulled one of the most noob mistakes,... I accidentally got a pretty nice bit of green on my shoulder bells... how could i get rid of it with otu having to remove the yellow?

thanks for reading my post,
dylan.

Here are the pics I promised.

These are the chest and back pieces that I have painted and is this too dark?

For my previous rattlecan armor, etc. I went with Rustoleum Satin Spruce Green. Same color has been used by several members here and was also on my SgtFang. The armor yellow spots are Rust-Oleum Painter’s Touch Marigold in gloss. The same yellow is the outer color on the shoulders with Rust-Oleum Painter’s Touch Summer Squash Satin as the lighter tones.

This is what it looked like after hitting it with dullcoat and some black misting:

Good luck!

Okay, I'll look into that, thanks for the help.

yeah it looks really good. i acutally have the same color and brand of marigold. i like the way your armor looks, i think i'll pick up a can or two of satin spruce green. what color should i use for the bucket?

Hey bud, have you looked at AFFO$'s paint colors? It is a sticky in the helmet section. It gives a bunch of rattlecan paint options. I used it for my Fett and am quite happy with the results.

i will do that. i think i messe up on my armr because i had planned to paint it with all the required color and then sand away the spot that show through, and i'm not sure if that will work...

thanks! but i think i might end up repainting it cause this was some waht of a trial, especially since the claret wine came out chunky and textured, i'm not sure what was up with that.
