...please keep something in mind
There are pictures that members on this forum have, that they cannot post publicly
There are many reasons for this. Each person has their own reasons
My reason is this;
I gave "someone" my word that I wouldn't post the pics on the net

I have tried to keep my word & have not posted the full pics
The pic above was cropped & posted in haste to prove that i was right.:facepalm
In hindsight, I wish that I would not have done so.

hmmmm.

personally i find it very, lets say "saddening" that a lot of information is held back. i think everybody that is here on this forum is looking to build the best costume possible for him/herself, and a lot of effort is put into those costumes, only to find out later that the time, effort and money wasted was used up to build something totally inaccurate. i will never understand these type of people, sorry. as soon as i find out what was used for this blaster i will post it for everybody to know that's for sure. cause that's what i believe this forum is for, share your findings and gather information and help each other out. i don't believe in bragging. as far as the rights owned to pictures. who's asking to see full pictures? but if there are certain areas that are still unknown in recreating fett's costumes, just a shot of this particular area/item certainly would help out the entire community.

that being said does anybody here have a pic of the :
Balco Sub Torpedo 50 spear gun?

might not be the one, but i only found a real tiny pic, where i couldn't make out anything in detail.

Does that mean me and Slave1pilot??:confused.....WOW, poor form(n)
Anybody who knows me, even you V, should know that I'm the last one to hold back.................least of all "brag".......

and I think for the record Slave1Pilot was nice enough to post what he did, even though he shouldn't/couldn't have, IMO..... I think that in it self helps in some way, doesn't it??...I mean it does prove that the Clipper is wrong, doesn't that account for something?

Trust me, you have it pegged all wrong.

i was speaking in general, spidey. otherwise i would have mentioned names.

yes the clipper is wrong, and i'm glad i know now that it is the wrong one. but i made my findings public, to start a discussion if this could indeed be the one or not. and based on the poor info available it could have been the correct piece. so i can now concentrate on finding the correct piece.

i'm glad someone was able to clear this up. but just looking at the double trigger guard, i'm sure a few people in this world and other forums knew about that feature. i didn't until i compared the clipper with the poor pic i had from the movies/sidearm/holster pic. the point i'm getting it, is that if i would have known that for a while, i could have corrected other builders, and say hey, that trigger guard needs to be double not single type, in attempt to strive for accuracy. isn't that's what it is all about? let's say i know a certain thing about something, and nobody else has proof but me, and i would claim this is how it has to be, how could i proof other people wrong, if i wouldn't release my findings and back up what i'm saying!?
this topic was started to find out about the real deal, like what almost 30 years ago that the movie aired. at this time we still have a shot at finding stuff out there, like nemrod holsters for example, and i'm sure that sidearm will pop up eventually as well. but how long should one wait to clear things up? another 20 years? fat chance finding anything then.
and i don't think my post reflected a "poor form". cause there is also a lot of folks at lfl holding infos back.so if you think i attacked you, than that is what you believe, but i certainly did not point anything into your direction.
it is my only attempt to uncover the mistery about the sidearm. and i don't need to be the one finding this missing/unknown item. i'd be happy for anybody else to step forward and present us with the facts. i'd applaud if this piece surfaces. as it makes the hunt for a lot of fans easier. and that's what the entire topic is about, exploring and finding the darn thing. nothing else. and there are no personal sentimentals involved here. just trying to get to the point of the issue, what sidearm was used. if it was carved out of a piece of wood, if it was a spear gun, or air pistol, who cares. but i would like to see the real piece. that's all.

Not taken personal at all(y)..... again trust me, if me or others were "ALLOWED" to post half of the stuff that has yet to be shown, half of this Fett Mystery would be solved.....so I acutally agree with what you are saying.
But it did come off as though you were putting me and Slave1pilot in that same boat...that's all....and that's far from the truth....again, it is what it is.

Even though I completed my costume, im always still learning and I love these types of threads! Im ignorant on the different pics people have that they cant show. The last thing I want is for someone to get in trouble, im just gracious I can see whatever gets posted. So my question is, do these pics come from the outside? Or are these pics people have just taken the time to disect from screen shots. I understand if you cant answer though, I was just wondering :cheers
Sorry for getting off topic.

I searched all the vintage spearguns and I haven't seen any good one. But the most correct IMO is the one that superjedi posted in another thread.

It's named Addict Gun 1 by Paul Herrin.

i don't see no double trigger guard, and no round tube near the barrel, just below the top .i have looked at that websites spear guns for weeks now, and none seem to be a match.

here is another lousy pic i found, this one is from a spear gun called:
Balco Sub Torpedo 50 spear gun

spg111.JPG

the trigger guards seem to have the shape, but still missing that round tube in the back. would love to see a better pic, so this one could be ruled out as well then...

Just curious if this option has been thought of.....
Could his sidearm be that of the same prop mold from which the Bespin Guard sidearm was made but painted with a brown grip?

I tried pausing ESB to get a good view of the sidearm in question but unfortatly I dont have the ability to get as clear a veiw as some of you here. But I did notice when the Bespin guards come and rescue Leis,Chewie,3po and Lando that the sidearms they use seem to have the characteristic and shape as the gun being mentioned.
Lucas production have been know(I think?) to use the same prop mold but change its paint scheme up on different weapons.
I dont dare pretend that I am right on this hunch and I am sorry I can not produce photos to help my explainlation.
Just something to add to the "mix"
Please be gentle in setting my hunch/suggestion striaght :)

Chris over at Parts of Star wars has established that the Bespin Guards blaster is the Nemrod Galeon
http://www.partsofsw.com/bespingun.htm

Great research going on here! (y) I really hope the base gun for this blaster is identified! When I posted that pic that KaanE mentioned I really thought the lower portion looked pretty close.

Just for a giggle: a reworked Bespin guard blaster was carried by the character Noa (Wilford Brimley) in the Ewok movie "The Battle for Endor." :)

Hey BFS1....nice website....
I took the liberty of contacting this Website Directly.....and I am speaking with Ron ...and he is having some of his buddies help Identify the sidearm based on the pictures I've sent him....

If nothing else he can get us better all-around shots of the current nemrod spear guns or others to help eliminate those as well.(y)

Awsome!! :cheers
