Evolution Props: A Few Specifics

I've seen a mixed bag of responses for Evolution Props. Some people say stay away, some say they're very pleased. I've seen that the guy who makes these props has shown interest in making his work more accurate, so I can't be sure what to believe from past reviews, anyway. All that is to say: what can you tell me about any of the following items?

RotJ Helmet - For a finished helmet, this price looks too good to be true. Is it?

Knee Darts - Seems to be the best price for aluminum knee darts that I've seen...

Boots - This looks like the only place I can buy boots big enough to fit. I know everyone swears by MoW, but until he starts offering boots in 13+, is there any compelling reason NOT to go with Evolution boots?

RotJ EE3 - Again, looks like a good price, but is it worth it?

I didn't look at his personal page but did look at the eBay page of items listed. His Glenross isn't correct. His stabilizer is too tall - I have the original Michell part for the Supertrooper which, according to the reference photos using all 3 versions of the Michell piece is the tallest of them all, and his is taller than that. The boots look too narrow in the front and his spikes are 3 " wide and the ones on my MOW (MCR) are 4" wide.

In my opinion it has to come down to your budget and what you want your end product to look like - both of which should be about you and your happiness with the product. In this forum my experience is most people will push you towards the MOST accurate option available - because it is a site for Fett alone. There are plenty of builds here that look fine to 90% of the world especially outside of this forum. If the price seems too good to be true it usually is. But again- build within your personal budget so at the end you can enjoy it rather than going in debt or not building one at all. I would not include those parts available on my build personally.

I went to the site but most of the pics aren't working for me .. The helmet is not good at all with the few pics I can see.

Thanks for the comment about the helmet, 01Hawk. Of all the parts, it seemed the most unlikely to be satisfactory, for the cost. The ones I'm the most interested in are the boots, because accuracy doesn't matter too much if I can't find anything that fits - so as long as the Evo boots are passable, that's pretty tempting for someone with feet my size.

No problem. It stinks MOW isn't an option due to sizing but you're right- you eventually need to get something and there are not too many options out there.

i would be very cautious don't drop all your money so quick.....

Oh don't get me wrong, I'm not talking about buying all of this stuff at once. Not even close. I'm just always trying to get a sense of what the options are, and I came across these today and wanted some opinions.

I'm in the same big feet boat . Wish there were more options for accurate boots.

I do have a pair of MOW size 13 older version without the squared toes. Better than nothing but not completely accurate...

I would not buy a helmet or eE-3 from there but thats just my opinion there are much better options here that would make u much happier, not sure wha your budget is either, some guys do scratch builds that are better then someone buying parts from vendors, but for the most part u won't find to many Fetts running around with a complete Evolution suit here to many negative encounters from the past, but there are a few I mene a few parts u can get that are ok,but lead times from there are usually not very good or sometimes product dosent arrive at all,it's always a chance we take in this business but try spending your money in a place where u are happy and feel confident in the vendor,if u stay within the parameters of the DH and what experienced Hunters say you will have a very great experience,if not u can be in for some major disappointment....

Ok...do you know of a better source for a large (size 13 or 14) boot?

I forget who told me, I think it was JC, that Christian (MOW) does doe a size 13, you just have to let him know ahead of time so he can get one ordered or something for the next run he does. I would try e-mailing him and asking about it. Another scenario is trying the CA boots, which are suede, not as accurate but passable. They are also the same price as MOW boots. Good luck.

Hi Guys, i ordered the Shin Tools, Cape, Gloves, ROTJ Blaster and the boots with Spikes @ Evolution Props. I will deal with him again, nice contact. In my Opinion the shin Tools are perfect, they were from Metal (Alu) not resin or Kind of plasitc. The Boots are great too. The Blaster isn't perfect but ok.

Only thing I have are some metal toe spikes from them, but looking on ebay at their stuff, the tools seem a little off in size. $100 is nice for some finished metal pieces though. Depends how accurate someone wants their build.
