You'll probably want the diver's belt an diver's belt buckle anyways, as it is a seen part of the costume. The belt itself is just black car seat belt material, and full metal fett makes the buckles for fairly cheap. Just make sure you keep it cinched around the bottom of your flak vest.

If money is no object, get in on bigdane's runs of the harnesses. I own one, and they are really good!

For me, hanging it on the harness belt, which is really only a couple of inches higher up than having it on the ammo belt, will likely fix the issue i had with my sidearm tapping the top of my knee armor...used to drive me nuts.

Id think the standard holster strap would be long enough. JC, i remember seeing your pics and your height is also in your torso, so i could see you maybe having to use a longer strap on the holster. Id just go by where it hangs on reference pics and adjust it accordingly. I think SR does the straps of the holster...maybe he makes longer ones...not sure though.

I had to replace the strap on my holster (the rubber strap that came with it from FP was cracked). I have the leather belt I used for the replacement. I will see how much I have left to make a longer strap.

Heh it's funny, I never noticed this thread and always thought that it was supposed to hang off the ammo belt but I've been hanging mine off the harness belt anyway because of the weight, good to know I've been doing it right the whole time, I wasn't crazy after all! Cheers for the info
