Whatever you do decide to use, remember that's an area of stress concentrations. If the blaster is likely to break anywhere, it's most likely gonna break there first.

I had mine laser cut in wood.

There are even some in resin on ebay, just check out the stores after you type in, "Fett Prop."

You could also send a PM to Sidewinder, he makes the entire blaster, I'm sure he wouldn't mind making a single part for you. His is also reinforced with steel I believe..

I am having my new kits done with water jet cut aluminum. Once I have the first 5 done I'll start posting kit pictures.

Layer several layers of Sintra, Polystyrene, ABS, plywood or what have yah with layers of fiberglass resin and reinforcing fabric..Layer it like a cake to the thickness you want..works well (y)

I traced my stock part to 10mm plywood, and then dremelled the whole thing to shape. If the weapon is to break at some point, it is in the seam where I attached the plywood to the hilt. But the stock will not break, that's for sure though..

There is the option of getting a resin castin from an original webley stock braket.

I do have a mold to make one and I know
sidewinder could get you one too. If you want to go that route

How about MDF , its pretty strong & easier to sand to a smooth finish than plywood ,alternatively sidewinders are resin reinforced with metal and i am sure he could supply one to you .

I cut mine out of 1/8 inch aluminum with a dremel. The thing is super stong an durable, it took me forever though:facepalm

This is an original on the left, a cleaned and painted one on the original stock in the center, and a raw 1/4" water cut alluminium one on the right.

This is what I'm doing. Seems really solid, but it's a little thicker than the real thing. I'll post pics eventually....
