General Challenge: Can you list...

Challenge: Can you list one single detail about the ESB Boba Fett costume that you don't like.

I'm not speaking in comparison to other later versions of Boba Fett or even functionality for that matter. It's simple, regarding the ESB suit alone, can you think of a single cosmetic detail, anything that you don't like. I'm curious what the community has to say.

Disclaimer: I don't want to start a war ESB vs ROTJ vs Special Edition...So I guess this just goes out to the ESB fan club.

For me, early on before I really studied this suit I may have been able to list off a couple things I wasn't a fan of but after studying it for so long, building it and wearing it, I honestly can't think of a single detail that I don't like.

I don't like how low the cod/butt armor sits, makes it hard to bend over or sit.

I agree that the cod and kidney armor makes it a bit awkward to sit down, but...this is falls more under the functionality aspect. I still think that they complete the suit and look great.

That is easy. The holster/sidearm blaster. It is nuisance.

That's interesting because I absolutely love the holster and sidearm. I feel like with the cape being on the left, without the sidearm/holster on the right the suit would lack a sense of symmetry as well. For a while I had it attached wrong and it would keep hitting my knee armor but I fixed that and now it works well.

The elastic g-string/thong that attaches to the cod piece.

Hardly very "badass bounty hunterish" when viewed from behind! Looks more like he should be dancing in Jabba's palace

Ooh, I'll bite as I'm working on an ESB. So for me the one thing that made me go "meh" was the sidearm. Now, I think the idea of him carrying one makes perfect sense, I just don't like the execution. Obviously nobody could see the Nemrod logo embossed on the holster during the movie, but it bugs me it's there. No casual viewer would realize the blaster itself was pulled off the same mass assembly line as a Bespin security guard standard issue piece, but it bugs me they took so much time and effort to make him amazingly unique and then when "wait, you need a sidearm...just grab one of these." Personally I may sneak a Jango piece into my holster.

The thong ... it sexualizes the costume and make me feel slutty and people stare at conventions which forces me to retreat to my safe place

Ha! I posted a picture of my costume from behind for my friends on Facebook (most of whom aren't Star Wars junkies) and one of my friends commented "Boba has a wedgie." I posted a picture of the actual Boba Fett with wedgie and said "Yes, he does." Wedgie required for accuracy.

I like the variations of color in ROTJ. There are things I could do without (as noted above, the many belts & the "thong"). The reason I went with ROTJ was simply because he wasn't all green. That being said, I prefer the ESB helmet weathering and EE-3.

As a ROTJ Fett I prefer the spats over the ankle ties. I also like the number of ammo pouches and the positioning of the canvas hip pouches on the ROTJ Fett. With ESB it looks a bit too boxy, but that's just me.

I'm surprised no one has mentioned cost yet...I could definitely do without that ;)

My fiancee is annoyed by how the shoulders aren't the same color, or how slightly different the greens are. But me? The only thing that I hate about ESB is that mine isn't DONE YET.

We keep getting ROTJ comparisons, I guess it's inevitable. I love and hate that color scheme. It's more striking and distinct but also looks like a 5 year old with a box of crayons just went nuts. Still, when an average fan pictures Fett I would heavily bet they do so with red gauntlets.

I know! And I thought it was pretty clear in the Opening Post Description, "I'm not speaking in comparison to other later versions of Boba Fett..." I knew that if I didn't specify, the comparisons to ROTJ would go rampant. And still. Lol. It's funny though because most of the things listed as not liked by the community are details that attracted me to the ESB character. And I am 100% in agreement with your analysis of ROTJ Fett.
