Boba Fetts Jetpack 3D printed build

I would look at Simplify3D for your slicer. Every part I posted up on my drive, was cleaned up, and repaired.

I think I may have tried out simplify 3d, only problem was (I think, I'll try again when I'm home from work) that it gives gcodes, and the only way to load a file into the davinci is thru .stl files. I wish I had a program that would do everything for my davinci besides xyzware..
 
I've got pretty much everything printed, glued on, bond'od, sanded, and primered. I sprayed a coating of plasti-dip on the inside, as I'm installing a water cooling system for my suit. I just have a couple small spots to fix, and its off to my weapons painter. I'm so ready for this to be done lol. That reminds me, I need to find paint templates...

CypherRaxx is the grappling rocket hollow? I'm tinkering with an idea on how to make the fins powered on remote. If it isn't hollow can it be printed hollow and can the rod section of the rocket that goes down into the body of the pack be printed hollow as well?

No, the rod and rocket are not hollow, but that's an easy change. I can't see how you'd make the fins move though?

Well I'd set up the fins just like the way you printed it. That way I could pin them in place so they could hinge. then I'd hollow out the inside of the rocket enough to attach the inside edge of the fins to a small solenoid some how. You could mount them to the solenoid with it fully extended so that when the shaft compresses the fins will lift. Similar to how some wine cork removers work. If the solenoid had enough of a throw the fins would lift all the way. Then you could just run the power cables for the solenoid down into the body of the pack through the hollow tube on the rocket. The only parts I'm still trying to figure out are a way to control it wirelessly and how to actually attach the fins to the solenoid. I'd also like it to be small enough to be completely contained in the rocket but I don't think that will happen.
 
I actually had him and Jc27 in mind to bounce ideas off of since they both sell wireless servo kits. I just need the rocket to get started and figure out how to mount it and how much throw the solenoid would need. I'll shoot you a PM.
 
You can drag n drop stl's into S3D, and it'll load it just fine. I don't use any gcode with it.

I figured out why I didn't use S3D... because I was cheap and didn't want to drop that money haha is it entirely worth it? Better prints and such? I'll do it if I can get better quality overall and a 3d printed jp
 
I tore apart a Kodiak cooler that I got from one of my surgeries. The pump is small, so I'll be able to print a mount for it. The tubing is insulated, which will help keep the water cool, while in transit to the pad. The pad was for my shoulder, but it will work nice on my back. Here's a company that sells a water cooling backpack, with the same size pump as mine, and theirs comes with a 12V battery pack that lasts four hours. I ordered a camelback of sorts that is insulated to help stretch the cooling time. I've already hooked it up once and it works awesome.
