Boba Fett Soundboard

Neo Fett

Active Hunter
Hello all!
I did an interesting mod to my kit the other day. I wanted a way to recite Boba's lines in the most compact way as possible.
At first I thought about using a raspberry pi but it still was a bit big.
I thought about it, and found a talking plush of Boba Fett.

I ripped it open and extracted the electronics. RIP Boba Fett.

I removed the button and the speaker from the board and attached an 3.5mm aux cord and the button from the right gauntlet. This let me put the entire system in the flame thrower.

Those of you who know electronics, please don't cringe. I'm new at this.

I also added a break in the wire so I can attach it to the gauntlet a big easier.
I bought a small bluetooth speaker with an aux port (hopefully no one connects to my speaker), plugged in the aux cord, and hid it in the side pouch. This is what I ended up with:

I have an idea of how it will all work when I'm kitted up but I'm sure there are still some kinks to work out.

I was thinking of using a sound board from an old toy that has Jason's sound bites on it. does anyone know of any older toys used his voice?

Jc there are boards you can buy that you can add whatever soundbites you want to them and then have buttons to push for each phrase sound etc. My wife used one for her Jawa. The one she had was kinda cheap and didn't get loud enough, even through an Amp but i'd bet you could likely rig something up that would work.

Nice work on this zenix!

I've thought about playing with Pi myself, although I doubt I'll get to it anytime soon. My thought was to integrate multiple functions. Also I'd want the old school voice, it still makes me cringe to hear the New Zealand twang.

I think the easiest way would be to use an Aker voice amp and practice his accent and lines. Most people would swoon just hearing the lines via an amp, let alone a reasonable voice impersonation.

When I troop as Fett I often slip between the old and new Fett voices depending on the age of the person talking to me. It's weirdly an automatic thing. But seriously, drop a few memorable lines and fans go crazy. If you speak very little, it's best, more in-character and also allows for folks to be periodically surprised at the amp-voice.

Lou, do you have any info on these boards like where to get them?

Let me see what i can dig up, my wife had bought it..it was fairly cheap but i have a feeling if you saw one you could either mod it or make one yourself that was better. I'll PM ya when i have something!

Sounds good. Maybe this could be something I could offer like my other kits.

Shoot me a message too please. I'd like to make my set up more elaborate and that board sounds perfect.

Darth Voorhees, I suggest 321electonics. Purchased a 4 trigger USB sound card with speaker under 30. Works great for my Borg outfit. ;). So many fandoms so little $$$.
