New Hunter
Hi everyone first time poster here, so im building the girlfriend an ee3 out of metal and thought id share the build. its not fully to scale due to what i can buy in my town. anyhow this is what iv done so far.

WP_20160902_13_33_04_Pro.jpg
used flat strap and solid square around a pipe.

WP_20160909_11_17_06_Pro.jpg
welded the flat strap to the pipe.

WP_20160909_11_16_55_Pro.jpgWP_20160909_11_17_31_Pro.jpg
made cut outs on the flat strap before welding.

WP_20160909_13_31_33_Pro.jpg
welded the solid square to the flat strap.

WP_20160912_16_08_33_Pro.jpg
made the tip from some 0.6mm sheet metal, a washer and bit of pipe.

WP_20160912_16_08_46_Pro.jpg
all welded still needs a tidy up, metal was a bit to thin for my welder.

WP_20160912_22_10_14_Pro.jpgWP_20160912_22_10_25_Pro.jpgWP_20160912_22_10_55_Pro.jpg
still needing a tidy up but front half of the barrel is nearly done.

That is looking incredible!! Great work! Please continue to post your progress, it is an inspiration to me to continue on my Webley -> ROTJ EE3 conversion project.

That's pretty cool man. Any idea how much it weighs?

Just shot it on the scales came up at 2.2kg or 4.85lbs, wont be any use for troop but will make a nice display

Got the bulk of the stock done today needs a few more things fixed up on it though, messed up on the frame around the hand guard started the top of the stock to high but o well its welded now.

WP_20160915_11_17_00_Pro.jpg
Cut the hand guard from some box tube, cut slots in the tube then folded it into a U shape.

WP_20160915_11_32_05_Pro.jpg
Cut the tube down.

WP_20160915_12_25_39_Pro.jpg
This is when i messed up and didnt pick up on it until i had finished, the lower pipe was supposed to connect more towards the other pipe.

WP_20160915_13_02_32_Pro.jpg
Welded a slightly larger pipe in the middle to bulge the skin out.

WP_20160915_14_07_24_Pro.jpg
Cut the skin out of 0.8mm sheet metal, tacked the skin down then hammered it around the pipe and welded the join.

WP_20160915_22_09_19_Pro.jpgWP_20160915_22_09_45_Pro.jpg
All finished needs a few extra details, will be casting the side plates for detail.

Still annoyed about welding the frame wrong, might make another when this one is finished.
Hopefully do some more next week, going to work on the rear of the barrel a bit more :)

The side plates are made from 0.8mm sheet metal and the lug on top is just some cut down box tube.
