BatNinja's Ammo Pouch Tutorial

Batninja, Amazing thread, so helpful and easy to understand, I'm not by far the most skilled or artistic person in the world, well probably not even in my block, but today I have made a belt and 8 flaps, the belt and 2 flaps are at my friends house waiting to be sewn (wish I could sew) and hopefully tomorrow I will work in the body of the pouch, thinking of probably using a styrofoam block is that the material packing peanuts is made of?, and probably I'll try to make a couple functional I don't need them all to be functional, just a place to put the car keys... Thanks again man, you're the reason I'll have an ammo belt and pouches better than I ever thought I would, I'll post pics as soon as I finish the whole thing.... Thanks again....

Here's an update, the belt is ready!!! eyelets and everything, thanks to my friend Jasmine for the sewing part, that's what brings all the life to the belt, just found golden eyelets so will have to weather them. The flaps are coming along too, they look gorgeous. I have no tools to work with wood, so I'm working with that green foam they use to stick flowers in those floral arrangements, don't know how it's going to hold the hot glue as is a very porous material, but I'll let you guys know. Now if I only knew how to upload pics I'll show you, but I don't know how to insert from an URL how can I browse to my folders to get my pics inserted here???...

I think I know how to upload pics now, hehe, this is how the belt came out... I'm really happy with the way it looks....

Wow! I hope you don't get sick of getting compliments because that is AWESOME. This was exactly what I was looking for to be able to start mine! Approximately how much time and money went into it? Perfect winter project, thanks for the great tutorial!

Just bought all my supplies and I am about to get rolling. Thanks for pulling this together and supplying it to all of us!

For the wood, I just bought a standard 2x4 from Home Depot since the physical measurements of a 2x4 are actually 1.5" x 3.5".

-I am going to cut of the remaining height from the 2x4 to get the needed height for each pouch.
-Then cut the angled cut for the top edge of the pouch in 1 pass rather than each angle cut for each individual pouch.

Sorry to bring this up from the depths, but I wanted to show off my ESB belt that I made using this tutorial. I feel it came out fantastic, and I would have NEVER been able to accomplish this on my own. You are amazing for posting this up BatNinja. Thank you.

Really loving this tutorial right now, pairing this with Strumfett and RafalFett's templates is going great. Making an ROTJ SE belt and cut the wooden block and am working on cutting the vinyl, looking at these 14 pouches I've got quite a lot of work ahead of me XD

This is an awesome tutorial. I am going to use the 2x4 idea as well. May I ask where the link is for the cutout pattern for the vinyl?

Thanks again,D

It's in the first post. It's not to scale. You just draw it to scale. Then cut it out, put it on your scanner/printer and reduce the size to 96-97% depending on how tight you want to pull the vinyl.

TK409's site might have a little closer dimensions and a template. Take a look at that.

Otherwise, BatNinja's tutorial works just fine.

This is awesome I cant believe it isn't stickied yet!

**I just drew up the patterns to scale, if it is okay with the OP I can post them up when I get home so you can just print and play.**
