Attachement method seen in Star Wars Insider 100th issue

Well the title says it all but just to be clear here goes : I received my 100th issue Star Wars insider and looked at the Boba Fett picture intensively. I realized that the diamond piece of armor was not hanging correctly. Upon closer inspection, I realized that the higher part of the diamond piece was not connected at all and you can see there is a hole in the vest with a bronze eyelet... was this the original method of attachement or is this only found on the newer SE version of the costume?

The "SE Version" of the costume isn't a new costume. It is simply an RotJ suit with the ESB helmet on it. From what I have seen, there is no reason to believe the brass grommets aren't the original was the bolts from the armor passed through the vest. The grommets can also be seen on the RotJ suit at MoM.
