Accurate color for the flak vest?

Arakus

Hunter
All the pictures I've seen of ROTJ Boba Fett has a "greyish" colored flak vest. I've seen several pictures on this board with more of a tan or beige color. My Bobamaker vest is actually a beige color.

Apparently beige is acceptable, but is it accurate?

I dunno, but I know I wouldn't want a beige one. up to you.

Tencel is an organic material. Twill is the weave of the fabric. Tackle Twill is 100% polyester. I have not seen it sold anywhere with the name "tackle twill". It is actually called "Poly Pro Twill". It is used for backing for athletic embroidered letters, like those used on letterman jackets, etc.

I have seen other material used and it looks ok, but most of the "Fett Experts" here will say the tackle twill is the only correct material, or the most screen accurate.

I so know what you are talking about. The first pic is of my Fett. The second pic is a pre release pic of the real thing.

biege and grey. I would love a grey one that matches the second pic but have not ben able to source one.

The fabric/colour used per Ladysewforus is the same that the real fett one (on my vest so). It's called Tackle Twill with a Greysh colour.

Your vest looks more an off white / natural cotton colour IMO :facepalm If your vest is made by Bobamaker, it's an off white cotton, because tackle is hard to get and he does it with cotton, not tackle.

But, please, BM does a high quality parts, don't misunderstand me.

It sure is a BM and it really is excellent quality (can't fault it). just got my eye on that grey material now

upgrages upgrades upgrades (here we go again lol)

This really is same the vest, just that it has variances in different pics because of so many different factors that have effected the color.
Light, age, dirt and so on and so forth.
The ROTJ and ESB vest are both grey, and just have a different effect to the pictures of them is all.
Just like muted grey such as Bobas vest can almost look white in bright light esp with it being shiney.

The accurate color looks gray. Some pics I've seen make it looks white with gray weathering. I spent way too much time sewing the velcro on my Boba Maker vest to replace it with a gray one. I ended up just misting it with gray primer and it ended up looking pretty good.

The weathering can really do the trick. Throughout the movie, there are so many different variations, due to the lighting, the shadowing and also the aging of the material, depending on when the scene was shot.

I would definitely suggest working with it until you have the desired color.

just MHO

I had Debbie's vest and dyed it "Pearl Grey" (Rit) for about 15 minutes in hot water. IMO it's about as close as your gonna get.

Hi, i have the same problem with my flakvest, but a litle wethering helps?
Sorry for the bad Picture

That is a nice looking Fett! Your vest looks more white than beige. A little bit of gray weather and it would look awesome.

Is that a mannequin? If so I love the pose.
