New Hunter
This is RafalFetts Jet Pack. (I have been printing a lot of his stuff).

I decided to drill some holes in the parts to provide someplace for the glue to go to help hold it all together.

Slowly, but surely, it started to come together.

Getting parts to line up was a tricky combination of clamps and tape

Finally! Got it all together

Now to start smoothing it out. Primer, sanding, bondo putty, more sanding and primer.

Seems like I have been sanding for weeks. Oh, wait, I have. :)

I have a rigidbot. (I have access to two, but one is my Brother-in-laws.) Each big piece took between 6 and 13 hours. The little stuff could take an hour, or a few. Took like 3 weeks to print everything in those two boxes.

Someone on Facebook that had split them shared their files with me. (Could have been you. Was that you? Maybe they got them from you)

nice work! if you don't mind, which rigidbot model do you have? the regular or the 3D Big? thanks
Regular. I could have done larger pieces than I did, but someone else split up the files. I am just glad to have had them, so I didn't have to model the jetpack myself. :)

I made a bunch of progress on a lot of things, but did not get a chance to post much as I was scrambling to get something done for Salt Lake Comic Con.

I did get the jetpack to a base silver

Your jetpck looks awesome! I am surprised in your write up that so much bondo and sanding was needed -- ignorant of any 3D printing, I had thought you'd just glue the pieces together and maybe need light sanding to prep for painting. FYI I think I've read the base coat for the jetpack is white, not silver.

Yah, the pieces are far from perfect. Even the best printers generate lines in the pieces. And there is always some shrinkage or warping, so the pieces don't line up perfectly.

But if you are willing to put in the work, you can end up with something quite nice, without spending a ton on cast parts, or having to wait for a run. I probably only spent $20 -$30 in plastic, so I am willing to put in the work.
