Removing paint ?

Hi :)

Is it absolutely neccessary to remove the paint job from a Don post helmet or could I just spray over it ?

A bit lazy I know but the helmet does'nt need to look perfect.

I didn't remove the paint on the first one I painted up & it worked out fine. Just give a good sanding with 180 grit to promote adhesion, wash the helmet & let it air dry, prime it & you're all set to go!
