The gauntlet darts can be tricky, they are small, metal and not easy to find anything that looks the same......
I have a simple method I am using and all you need is about 6 inches of plumbers solder @ 3mm wide, a few hand files and a bit of your time. most of this stuff you may have laying about already...the reason for using this lead is it is very easy to cut, file and shape but is also very strong to lateral force....it is silver in color and will weather naturally....
the 3mm lead is strong enough to withstand knocks and bangs and the best part is it will never snap ....this is also a good way to build a week link into your gauntlet, one that's an easy fix....(ya gotta have an easy fix week link)
This dart took about 20 mins its incomplete and the values are not correct as its just to illustrate what can be done in next to no time.. I will finish up all four and see what the end result is...
if you have a drill press (pillar Drill) you put it in the chuck and whip one out in about 5 mins if you are careful, I have tried it and the forces are greater than doing it by hand and it takes a bit more skill.... BE ADVISED using a drill press and hand file can be a dangerous mix.... I advise doing it by hand.
