PP2 Fett project start-up

I began turning my attention to the armor. I started filing and placing new dents in their proper locations based off of the original reference photos. I plan to do both of the PP2 ab plates to provide myself versatility and accuracy for CRL.

Working a little bit on the Sling Gun (3d printed by @cosplaycorps on IG). Does anyone know what type of sling was used on this blaster???

My airbrush crapped out on me, I am awaiting for the arrival of the new one. Hopefully I can blast out my remaining body armor pieces (collar, cod, kidney, back plate) in the next week or two? After that it is shoulders, knees, and gauntlets. I also ordered a PP2 RF/stock from Garrett, I am super excited about.

Did you do any bondo work on the sling gun to smooth out the 3d print? It looks really good so far.

Yeah, Boba Joe actually did all of the prep work. It is pretty much ready for paint.

Here is a my progress photo dump... I only have a few things left before I can fully assemble this kit. I am really struggling with figuring out the flamethrower brackets and clamps for attaching them to the gauntlet any input or direction for that would be awesome? The last big task will be the JP harness assembly, then placing and mounting it properly. I worked with Arkady on the custom tailored flight suit and then two stage hand/airbrush dyed it myself using Denim and Pear Grey. The side by side shot is of the first stage dunk dye (color combo blue and grey mixed) on the right. On the left is the second stage airbrushing of just Denim blue to make the hue pop a bit more that is final version as it stands for now. Unfortunately the pics do not do it much justice. It still appears grey. However in person you can definitely see the blue hue. The ref pics for this suit are pretty subjective and so nailing the color was a task.

I used this image as my primary reference.

Time for another photo dump... I finished up the gloves stitched on the patches and color corrected them. I rigged up my FT brackets and test mounted it. Painted up and weathered the knees and started on the paint-up right gauntlet (using Tamiya Maroon Spray paint). Also started free handing the damage on the left gauntlet as well no pics in this batch. I have truly enjoyed this journey except for the left gauntlet and jet pack haha! Seriously though. I can see the light at the end of the tunnel. I only have a few major hurdles left. I have to set-up my JP Harness and mount the clips. Finish the weathering and detailing on the cape, ammo pouches need to be color corrected ( I am using Nu Life spray light grey for one and tan for the other) then assemble/attach the knees and finish up the gauntlets/hoses. At last here are the photos. Feedback, advice, criticism, comments, suggestions etc.. are all welcome!

Alright. So when do we finally get to see a full kit up?!

Sent from my SM-G930P
I am hoping to wrap it up by May 20th if I can knock out the JP Harness setup and mounting this Sunday. I plan to get the needed supplies to finish assembly on the gauntlets and knees today. Those are really my final BIG 3 tasks. I am going to use a button snap/ velcro combo on the knee's. The gauntlets maybe a bit more tricky because the flame thrower brackets and some other minor issues. Sorry for the long winded response haha I am so pumped to put this whole thing together and get some photos up on here!

More progress pics incoming... A friend and I did the JP harness mock-up over the weekend and ironed out those kinks. The photos attached our rough mock-up we did. I have actually replaced the white straps with the appropriate off-white/cream straps. I also painted up the left ammo pouch light grey and the right tan need to weather them still. Also included are a few shots of the right and left gauntlets before I weathered them. Lastly some additional pics of after weathering the right gauntlet and touch-up on the coloration of the flight suit.I promise it looks much more blue in person. ahaha
