General Sidearm holster

Looking for info on how far the sidearm holster should hang down. Making my straps for mine so just needing some direction.

Research by others indicates it hangs from the jetpack strap. In practice this is rarely done, from the ammo belt is probably easiest.

I am going to hang mine from a lanyard under my flack vest they goes over the left shoulder and have it so it just holds the holster Weightt by the loop giving the illusion its attached to the Ammo belt but not weighing it down and pulling on the ammo belt
