Hello everyone, DentedGent here.
Not necessarily new to the forums myself, but new to the community.
I have been researching and lurking around the forums dreaming of building my own costume for a long time now.
I made a wee little post about a year ago introducing myself and talking about how I was planning on constructing a ROTJ SE build using BM parts.
After such a long and winding year, it has finally arrived and ready to be worked on. My dream is becoming a reality! :angel
I am creating this thread to showcase my progress and work in order to learn and create the best Fett I can to honor fine craftsmanship such as BM's.
Hopefully you guys can help guide a newbie like me in the right direction and avoid any major pitfalls. If anything, I want to do BM's work some justice and I would rather sell it than ruin it.
Please feel free to comment, critique, suggest, etc... I want to learn from the community more than what I just happen to find on the threads.
If anyone has great threads or tutorials they would like to share, please do.
I am currently in need of a humbrol paint guide for ROTJ SE, detailed documented process if possible. Layered/Topical mixed method? Masking tips/tricks? Anything helps. Thank You.
A little bit about myself: I'm a graphic designer and life-long Fett fan based in Los Angeles, I am an avid illustrator and painter. I mostly use graphite, inks, copics, oil paints, acrylic paints and photoshop.
I have a steady hand and I hope to prove it by painting up my own armor and getting down the closest to screen-accurate Fett I can make.
I have painted a few models and worked minimally with spray paints, but this will be my first real task with such complexity with enamels and layering/masking.
Here are some photos of the assembly. I also purchased a compressor and gun for the spray job since I want more control when painting.
So far, I have collected various Humbrol paints in order to prepare for the job (a photo of the ones I currently have is included below).
Thank you for your time and see you guys around!
