TBradley - WIP ROTJ Fett - First time costumer/cosplayer

Hello all,

I started my build last September and it has been slow going. I am not very crafty and I seem to have negative artistic ability so everything has been a struggle. My garrison commander recommended that I make a thread on here to ask the community for help. When giving advice I ask for two things. 1) Be brutally honest and 2) Assume I know nothing and that you're trying to explain things to half-witted nerf herder.

I am having the most trouble with the gauntlets and how to connect the top and bottom pieces.
Getting the right mix of colors. (I am using spray paint but I am also using some acrylic)
Weathering the armor.


Flight suit- Neck- Vest -Spats all made by Arklady - Amazing quality!

I got the EE3 from a TDH member. Boots were made by a vendor in Texas- Toe Spikes are ordered and should be here in 2 weeks.

Here are some more pieces I am working on.

The two armor pics is an area I need help with. I got the back, kidney and cod piece from RKD and I spray painted it according some guides I found on here. The chest pieces I bought from a member on here but the green is totally different.

Which do I go with?

Here are the gauntlets. I think the color is finally right but I have no idea how to connect the top and bottom pieces. I tried using just magnets and that failed pretty hard.




I can't seem to find the right color orange/yellow for the shoulders and knee pads.

I have the darts for the knees on order and they should arrive next week.

I am currently painting the gauntlet rocket and I'll add pics soon.

The bucket I got from Animefan and the quality is great. I have painted, sanded and repainted that thing so many times I have lost count. I will add pics as soon as the latest coat of paint dries.

For the armor I recommend stormtrooperguys stickied paint thread. Not perfect, but not bad either.
Are the gauntlets resin or ABS or a mix? If resin or fiberglass I'd use Cruzer's tutorial in the jango section to hinge them. If ABS I'd glue one side (overlapped properly) and Velcro the other.

Wow looks good so far.. can't wait to start on mine..
