Vest Need vest help.

Hello I am making me first Boba Fett outfit, and I am 100% willing to admit that I am a newb. I have my flight suit and armor now all that is really missing is the vest.
I have heard that it can be made really well out of tackle twill. Any ideas/suggestions?
I want to use cheap good stuff to make it but I am not sure what to use.
