The upper part is either a silver or a red base with the other color applied on top. The lower is a white base with a black on top.

The rocket has 4 different colors in it:

The base colors are silver until the middle of the rocket (narrow area) and from there is just flat white, that you could substitute or mist with either almond color or light grey.

The top and some of the rocket is like a metallic burgundy color which you could either go Walmart or any hobby shop and get that paint already done, or you just paint the whole thing silver, make some spots with burgundy, and then mist it again with silver for the metallic look.

Then, once you finish with the base colors, mist it around the middle, mostly the bottom area (look at the pic above) from top to bottom with frat black for the "burned" effect.

i used a really small funnel turned upsidedown, then i cut off the end and used epoxy to make the tip.hope that helps.

I am told that the top of the rocket was cast from an Office water cooler cone shaped paper cup. You know, the kind you have to throw away rite after you use it because you cant set it down any were because the bottom comes to a point.
Check it out, just pore in your epoxy or femo or resin and bam there you have it. http://store.officeworld.com/catalog.asp?ShellID=137|87|173|86|95|78|90|11|59|236|251|252|162|199|92|97|117|122|191|60|172|35|18|95|200|100|60|174|75|60|70|52|109|116|160|186|222|168&HiddenShoppingLists=&HiddenCustomerLists=&ProductGroupID=205912&ProductLevelFlag=False&OrderBy=&BeyondValue1=&BeyondValue2=&CP=aova<IMG SRC="images/smiles//icon_razz.gif">aper.cup&cpid=

I used a funnel for the top of my rocket. I too had to fill in the hole (about 1/4 inch in diameter) with hot glue and then used Bondo to shape it into a point. It's not that hard to do.

on my scratch pack I used the cone office cooler cup. Really I just filled one with resin and let it harden. Cleaned it up with a little bondo and glued it on. Worked out pretty well.

How Funny!
I too used the cone paper cup on my Homemade Jet Pack. I had been to Home depot looking for hours(my wife thinks I'm a dork). I went to work the next day and was drinking a cone of water when I thought, I'll bet this would work. Worked great!!! Although, my Jet Pack probably weighed close to 20 lbs
Never got a chance to wear it though, a FORMER FRIEND stole it.
Oh well! Got one of MB's New JP's now.
Good luck and let us know what you decide to do and how it turns out.
Thanks,
Robert E.

well - i considered the paper cup approach but truthfully I dont have a ton of money to expend on buying resin right now as i just bought a jango braided belt.
So - what i did was this - I picked up a small funnel and dremeled off the top and bottom to fit the rest of the missile - then I used bondo to build up the pointy tip.
Im priming it now - I should have pictures by manana.

At one of my stops during my Halloween journey, I think I hit the rocket tip with something (probably while looking inside my truck), but the fin facing out of the jet pack (the primary point of view of it) got broke!

One of my friends told me if something was broke or it was just the look of it (didn't noticed until it was time to put it on again to go to the BIG competition, when I noticed the disaster area in the fin (just half of the fin got broke, top part).

Is there a way to fix it? I think a thick piece of sintra could fix the problem, removing completely the one broken, but I have no source for it to get one, at least a little 6" X 1/2" (whatever the lenght and width of it, being wider the thickness better for shipment).

i would go with the sintra.sand down the side of the rocket flush, trace one of the other intact fins and you will have a perfect copy.just glue it on.

It is a pretty easy fix you could do as Boba Freekk mentioned or cut it off make a new one out of .80-.90 mil styrene strips and just glue on and repaint fin and any damage to the cone base from removing the broken fin.

It is a minor fix that is not really that big a project to do.

I actuall chose to snap my fins off (they were too thin) and cut grooves into the rocket and inserted thicker more prominent fins.

Worked well and it is very strong. It looks cool because they look like they are not part of a molded rocket, rather seperate attachments (sort of like the grappling hook fins).

Boba Freek and Jedi-Bob's comments were in my mind...but Bob's idea is excellent. Still, I'm going for the easiest one first, like Boba Freek said, then I could make changes like Jedi-Bob said as well.

Now what I need is someone who could sell me just a little piece of sintra that thick.

How thick do you need?
I have some laying around for my R2 unit.
I could send you a piece with your belt. ;)
LMK.
Thanks,
