The box is not my work. It was build by a good friend.
Before i can post his name I will ask him if i can share his identity.
I´m very happy with this box it is realy awesome.
Very nice! About how much did the HIC cast cost you? (not to be indiscrete or anything Your friend did an amazing job on the box, I look forward to see the finished product!
Hi,
you have a PM.
For all the others, this is a Frontpanel made by Vos from RPF. This is fantastic and sharp in details.
This Panel is made of fiberglass and looks great.
Here are some preview pictures of the Side Panels. These Panels are all "beta" especially
the hero panel. All panels are resincasts i must sell the original Volvos :cry.
I think i change the Hero Displays to the original NOS kit.
(there are a little bit of dust lying on the panels)
second hero panel, vintage led´s are working
Kurtyboys metal u clips are great
Hero panel with old modeljag kit, the two philips screws are still missing
Thanks for the nice words and to all who have made this project possible.
Specifically Vos, darthchromer, Kurtyboy, HIC-Builders-Club and Loanstar Germany.
thx and be patient for some updates.....
Edit: The Guy who made the Box is Loanstar Germany!
I´m very busy at the moment....but work is in progress.
I will add new pictures soon as possible.
Which angles do you wish as picture or do you need some other pictures of the panels?
Yesterday i have found some time to work on my HIC. I have rounded the edges and cleaned the frame from bubbleholes.
Then i have found a hole in the right hand and filled this. The line in the middle of the cast is epoxy the first filler is out crumbled.
That hit me back in time. But **** happens ! In Dezember the HIC becomes his paintjob and we all can celebrate x-mas.
Aw man, this stuff is so awesome! I came on here just to see what it would take to have Han in Carbonite as the front door to my kegerator (I homebrew beer). Looks like it would be too much $$ for me being married and kid in college, but I would LOVE to do a project like this if I could afford it. Like I need another hobby!!
Would I be right in estimating about $500 for the pieces and materials to build one of these? Give or take?
Building a Han in Carbonite is so difficult. If you want a awesome prop like see in the movies, it would cost much more as 500 bugs.
You must ask yourself what you want. Do you want the Masterpiece of movie props or a piece thats ok to display in your brewery.
For a movie accurate HIC "Han in Carbonite" you need a lot of money, time and research. But its not impossible. For my HIC i have read all i could find for a year or so. And in this time buy me the stuff i need to build this what you see in the pictures. But it is also faster......
I will not scare you, it is an awesome prop and I love it.
If you have any question feel free to ask.
