Need help with Girth Belt

What is the preferred material for the extension belts on a girth belt. I know they need to be black, but what material do you guys use? What do you think looks best while still being functional? Thanks in advance for your help!!

I think the material for the original prop is black webbing. For trooping and having to mostly dress myself I use sections of an old black dress belt. I can get a nice fit thi sway tuck the ends in by myself.
