BEWARE OF EBAY SELLER tk-1771!!! WARNING!!!

FettDad

Active Hunter
hey brothers, i have to warn you about an ebay seller TK-1771...he is using pictures from some of our family members here to sell stuff...imparticular Man of War Studios' new boba fett boots...he is using the pics from MOW's auction and for sale thread here to sell some boots...not once does he mention anything about buying these boots from MOW, no credit given to MOW for his boots, or acknowledgment of using MOW's pictures for reference...:confused:eek:(n)

he had an auction that ended the other day, and it had a .99 beginning bid on it for some MOW boots, with toespikes...i was watching it and it ended, so i contacted this seller to see if he would relist them...well, he did, and put them up at $129...which is fine, so i proceeded to try to get some information about the boots, mainly some pictures of the ACTUAL boots, not pics STOLEN from MOW, and i am sure you can guess what happened next...no reply, no pics of the ACTUAL boots, and then gave me excuses about not wanting to put crapy pics of the boots he has, and wanted to show a pic that was better...?????

also, he is using pics of Gabe's armor and softparts, attempting to blur out Evolution's trademark RED label on all of his pictures...he does claim to have bought Gabe's stuff, but there is no mention of him buying the boots from MOW...

i have copies off all the emails sent back and forth if anyone would like to see them....and to top all of this off, in his auction for a Republic Commander Helmet, the name "STAR FORTRESS" is mentioned...check it out here is the link to his store...

http://shop.ebay.com/tk-1771/m.html?_nkw=&_armrs=1&_from=&_ipg=&_trksid=p4340

notice MOW's boots acution, Gabes armor auction with Evolution blurred out in the pic, and the Republic Commando Helmet where Star Fortress is mentioned...

i am warning my family of a potential fraudulent activity on ebay...i have been watching this guy for awhile now, and something is just fishy...if you dont smell the fish, then buy from him...but to me it stinks big time!!!:angry

we all know about Star Fortress, at least we all better know...see here...

wow is this guy serious!? I like how everything says "501st approved" even that funky boba belt holster, also the description of the boots are pretty much word for word MoW's. fishy indeed.

ya, you should see my conversation with him throughout the day...i may post it up...i have asked for pictures of the actual boots like 10 times, and he just beads around the bush everytime, accusing me of attacking him, stating he doesnt have to prove anything to me...well, i guess i am attacking a little, but i dont appreciate what he is doing to Christian and Gabe...if he legitimately has those items for sale, he shouldnt use others' pictures to sell them, and be willing to post those pictures...if that is indeed what you have for sale...

exactly, I highly doubt he bought pairs of boots from christian and selling them brand new for cheaper, it makes no sense. At the very LEAST it should say "reffrence" with the consent of christian of course. It just makes no sense to sell products without ACTUAL photos.

totally agreed brother...and the simple fact that pictures of the actual item were never provided, leads me to believe its a scam...after bantering with me all day, the starting bid on these is now at $89...hmmm...wonder why that is? he saw i was interested in them when i contacted him to relist the boots, raised the starting bid to $129 + $28 shipping, from .99, and now that we exchanged what i would call impleasantries, has now dropped the beginning bid to $89...shady, very shady...(n)

His profile on the 501st Legion site is "classified". Who builds a TK and joins the 501st only to have their profile stay unkown? Searching his feedback Gabe has given him positive feedback as a buyer for the stuff he's selling but I can smell the fish too. I have only had 1 problem on Ebay in 10 years cause I can smell the fish!

Hi Woodman, some members of the 501st are in sensitive jobs and can't have their private persona revealed on the internet. Having been in law enforcement that is what many of us do at times. As far as this TK 1771 we do not know if this is really "the" actual TK1771 or someone is stealing that persons 501st identity. Having investigated such cases I discovere that identity theft in this manner, assuming someones on line persona, is pretty common. Particularly in some arena's, such as child porn, illegal photos, are normally passed around in such manners. If the "phisher" discovers an on line name that is appears favorble , unused and does a little research and detrmines that a member is listed as "inactive", then this is a perfect opportunity to assume that persons idenity. The unsuspecting public is then lead to believe they are dealing with a "reputible member of the 501st" thus, the con is complete. Now let me state I DO NOT know if TK1771 is real or just someone creating a sock puppet to scam everyone. If it is affiliated with Star Fortress need I say more, or I don't think this would surprise anyone. Just mu opinion

Agreed, never dawned on me about the job thing, government jobs as well, I guess folks are just trying to prevent another "Gary Chaboya" incident.

I bought a MoW Jango Arena Jetpack at 132USD from this guy yesterday! I thought I grab a bargain but now... :(
I will be bery cautious with the 45 days that PayPal gives to refund my money if something goes wrong, because I think that something's going to go wrong with this seller

please update us brother on your item...if you go back and look at the auction, not once does he mention MOW in that auction, but guess who's pictures he is using for his auction!? so ya, would love an update on this transaction...i seriously hope it comes out ok...i have no problem with the guy selling stuff that he has legitimately purchased from people...i do it...it is the lack of acknowledgment to who those sellers are that he bought from, not providing ACTUAL pictures of said items, and using other's pictures from their auctions to use in his auction...

Wow that suck bro.

if you scroll to the bottom of his feedback,he bought quite a few helmets from Star fortress..wouldn't be surprised if he was planning on recasting that ****. It really sucks that people intentionally go out there to rip people off..its apparent thats what this guy was doing.he figured hed put up a bunch of stuff, get paid and drop the customers and e-bay and run with the cash...or at least try to.

I had a an issue with a ebay seller a few years ago with some non SW stuff, Luckily I kept the copies of the emails back and forth and after 4 weeks I contacted paypal, he claimed to ship it and gave a tracking number off another persons package, stupidly he failed to realize that it showed the other persons address as the delivery location. I got my money back from pay pal and needless to say the seller is no longer doing business on ebay.

it would seem TK1771 has had some previous history of bad blood in the 501st

maybe some brothers in the badlands garrison can clarify and help you out?

Santiago - sorry for you bud - but have you've been in this game for quite a while now - have you not learned the 'if its too good to be true, then it must be' rule abt ebay buying ;p

@FettDad - I am completely on the same wavelength as you mate, was gonna send 1 or 2 questions and clarifications, but it would appear he is now un-registered :(
