just wondering

Tandau Mano

New Hunter
is there a group like the 501st for mandalorians? i was looking at the 501st website and it seems that mandalorians aren't as accepted unless they are jango, boba, jodo or jaster... and you have to have a professional quality costume... so is there a group like the 501st for mando'as?

Mandalorian Mercs

We are the Lucasfilm Ltd. preferred club for custom, non-canon Mandalorian costumes. We do require a high quality set of armor, and do have a good list of standards. However we have 27 chapters in 7 countries around the world.

ok... i am working on my armor at the moment... i did scope out your website and saw that there were changes to armor being instituted for 2010... i am working on a fully custom mando beskar'gam centering on a design of sniper/slicer specialist.. i just can't afford to buy any armor, so mine is mostly just cardboard that is resin coated and painted.

If it's resin/bondo coated then it will probably pass standards. We have some members that have used cardstock as a base, then applied resin/bondo over it until it looked like regular fiberglass style armor. It all depends on how much attention to detail you put in to make it look like armor and not like cardboard with resin on it.

i hope to make it look like it's metal... it will mostly come down to the painting that i do, but i do alot of armor painting for warhammer40k

Cool:)

Minatures however are a different kettle of fish to painting armour, as most of the time you have large areas to cover and you need to think bigger when planning your painting, well, at least that's what I found :)
