Quality Jawa

Bets on Fett

Jr Hunter
Hey, does anyone know where I can find parts and accesories for a high quality Jawa costume or templates to make one? My little sister is really interested in being a Jawa, especially since we hope to go to CV. Any help and guidance is highly appreciated.

I made a Jawa not to long ago, I didn't have any templates or anything just guessing the entire thing. I basically Just got some Brown Canvas, Sewed it into a baggy sleeve robe, weathered it with sandpaper and sun bleaching. Then got leather belts from goodwill and 6 old ww2 ammo pouches from the army surplus.

For the mask we used black crushed velvet, close to what the original mask was and covered the velvet in a black plastic face mask I then wired wireless Christmas lights in them with amber colored LED's behind amber colored rocks from an aquarium.

This guide helped me a lot. http://www.td8733.com/Tutorial.html As for the blaster http://www.instructables.com/id/Star-Wars-Jawa-Ion-Blaster-replica/

i'll post some pictures Tomorrow to show you the results.

If you want an amazing Ion Blaster you can find one here http://datavincistudio.com/ (I'm currently finishing my Jawa up and the Krayt Clan Detachment had posted this). Really good quality, otherwise Jawa stuff isn't too hard and has few restrictions, fun costume though.

If you want to do it the right way, don't use cheap fabric. Look for a blanket with a herringbone weave...preferably in white so you can dye it yourself. That's what we used for my daughter's.

Just went to the site...looks like they are closing up shop. Shame because those pics look incredible!

Use monk's cloth. You can get it at JoAnn Fabric for $9.99 per yard. Then get Dark Brown RIT Fabric Dye (also at JoAnn). Definately check out these two sites: The first one for the AMAZING mask tutorial:

And this one for the accessories:

For the boots, I got a pair of rubber rain boots from Wal Mart. I wrapped them in extra monk's cloth from the robe and hood build and held in place with hot glue. I then sprayed lightly with a sand colored Fleck Stone paint and flat black paint from Wal*Mart.
