Fiberglass painting and preparing.

I remember someone in this forum from the West Coast (was it "FoxBatklr", who did a lifesize HIC (Han in Carbonite) and used it on a parade a few years back. As I remember the topic, after months in display or so (maybe a year or two), the paint of the HIC prop started cracking and flaking away from the fiberglass.

Does anyone knows the right way and/or what to use to prep the fiberglass to prime it and paint to prevent that? Of course, I know I have to clean the surface from dust and inperfections.

Sand it, prime it, paint it, clear coat if you want or paint additional layers. store in moderate climates.

There's no reason the paint should fall off if it is properly prepped. I don't know why that would happen to anyone as long as they sanded it and primed the whole thing.
