Detail colors: Spray paint alternatives?

Hey guys,

I know AFFO$'s has bottle paints listed for the detail colors, but I was wondering if anyone has found spray paints for the gray scratches and chips on the pretty much the entire helmet, and the dark purple/red details on the visor/mandibles/key slots.

I think krylon gray primer looks pretty close to the gray scratches, but I am still pretty far from an expert!

I just bought the 68¢ bottles of acrylics that you pick up at Wal-Mart. I just sponge them on with a paper towel until I think it looks right.

Andy, I am about ready to primer my bucket, I was thinking about using those same paints on my helmet to paint the entire helmet if it will stick to the primer, any thoughts?
