That vader is the Dutch word for father???

I am your father!
Ik ben je vader! in Dutch

it is true.

I don't think Lucas used a Dutch dictionary for Darth's name hehe
He got Vaders name from the word invader if I'm right

:cheers

My understanding was that the word "Darth" means dark--therefore, Darth Vader would literally translate to Dark Father. That could be rumor, but I remember hearing that a while ago.

I think in the early drafts of Star Wars, Darth Vader was a Sith or Imperial general with no relation to Luke 'Starkiller'. Maybe the translation is just a coincidence.
