Best cheap material for WOF template aromor, jetpack etc..

Hi,

What is the best but cheap material for constructing Fett armor, jet pack, helmet...

I'm looking at sintra and styrene sheet but is there a cheaper alternative? This is my first attempt but I want it to last so I'm not sure if I want to use cardstock.

Also, I'm in the Uk. I mention that 'cause you guys often use brand names when you refer to materials. Sintra for example is not available here in the Uk that I know of, and I had to do some digging to find out just what sintra was.

The other thing I need to know, How thick should the material be?

Sintra is available here in the UK, 3mm is best, its SO easy to use
A mate of mine gets it from a place in Watford, Hertforshire.
