Ok so a number of hours & three hand blisters later that's about 300 odd side plates bent to shape on my jig.
    sideplates-wip-jpg

First four ring bodies bent to shape, still working out the best method of doing the various bends and needs a thread tapping for one of the screws but it looks like these are a goer.
    ring-body-wip-jpg

Given that this is aluminium not steel, you'll have to be careful not to overtighten the scope tube clamp screw (not the sideplate one which uses a nut) so you don't strip the thread.

I'd say these will be about 90% accurate to the originals, partially because they're being done by hand rather than a machine.

SAS, these are a major step forward in the details of your already impressive kits. I'm sure your hard work and attention to detail will be well rewarded; they're clearly exceptionally close to the real thing and a significant improvement on resin. The best just got better. Great job.

ESB ready for owner to add their own EFX - working trigger, microswitch installed & barrel not fully assembled. Owner will also add replica wood stock & metal bracket/grip(obtained elsewhere), hence those parts missing.

I also installed a PCB mount type tactile momentary switch in that last build for use as the aux function button required by the EFX the user will install.

Another small upgrade i'm trying out is steel instead of aluminium sling posts (the rings have always been steel). It means they can be flame heated to give them a blue/grey appearance without painting.

Latest ESB build, has the new all steel sling rings/posts. Also has (experimental) reinforcement to the grip frame using the same steel rod as in the stock bracket.

For a US Fett. Found a new tool/method for polishing up the CC Brass grip, looks more like actual metal now - shame it doesn't really show up in pics.
