well for now, I'm trying to clean up a set of aluminum armor I've got. it's been primed, painted, and re-primed and sanded in between (wasnt happy with chrome paint), yeah I thought of that. I noticed the more rub n buff got on my hand, the more it balled up, so I took to washing my hands after every 2nd/ 3rd attempt. the whole thing is just bizarre. either way, this sets gonna get sold, just wanted to practice and figure it out before trying on the fiberglass. for those of you with fiberglass, did you apply straight since the existing finish is pretty smooth (I know it is in JD's armor's case), or do you prime and wetsand 1st?
