I am starting this thread as a follow up to my garbage can armor thread. Here is an update pic of my garbage can armor as of today. I still want to work on it a bit:

I did a first mock-up of the armor on my new vest and flight suit:

To start off, I have yet to decide on colors of the vest, flight suit, and girth belt. So I would appreciate input on what everyone thinks I should use for color schemes, obviously around the brown/blue I have on the armor itself. Leave it the way it is? Go much darker? What about helmet and gauntlet colors?
Too many options, should I just throw it away?
 
Throw it away? Never! It looks too nice. :)

Hmmm, well, there a lot of colors that go with blue but not all will work with how much of that color is in one spot. (Did that make sense? LoL...) Whites, greys, and other blues(darker ones perhaps) go with the blue you have. Brown would work too. Actually, that would be very nice. :D

As I've been told: "Custom is CUSTOM". It's all your choice how you piece it together.
 
Firstly, don't sell yourself short on what you have already. It looks pretty good so far, and if it's your first set, your learning as you go.

For your vest I would go with maybe a tan, or even leave it like it is and make your flight suit a tan color. Girth belt will look good a dirty white.

Yep, custom is custom...just remember that there is also a line as to what is and isn't going to be seen as "Mandalorian armor.". We have a Mercs chapter there in LA that get together for armor parties now and then, you should check in with them and see if they can help you out locally.
 
I won't throw it away! I just like to brainstorm EVERY idea, even if it is ridiculous. I think if you are open to every possibility, then it helps you find the best conclusion. Thanks for the input. I took the pic and started playing with it on photoshop, but I forgot my jump drive at work, so I will have to post the pics later. I have come up with some new ideas as well, so stay tuned if interested.....

I am in the LA Mercs Clan. We are meeting up for the Californina Comic Con in Yorba Linda tomorrow. We're gonna meet up around 1000-ish in the am and hang there til it shuts down at 5:00pm. We should have 6-7 LA Mercs in armor there, 2 or 3 of which will be little one, Verd'ikas. Come on out an dmeet us if you would like. Have a look and what we've done. We'll be easy to spot... the herd of Mando's moving about!
 
Ok, as promised, here are the photoshoped pics. I just did it as a test and only the vest area is in question. I will do the same with the neck and suit soon.

Any thoughts? I know when I dye it I won't be able to get exact color matches, but it gives you a good idea.
Also, considering the three main parts (neck,vest,suit) I want to use two colors, but should I match the neck to the vest or the suit? I know boba matches the vest but it's CUSTOM. And I really just like to hear different opinions and ideas. I appreciate all input, good and bad.
 
Way to look at all your options! Love the pink lol!!! Personally, I would do the blue because the armor is blue and that color is right next to the armor. I must say that the yellow is interesting beacause it's kind of close to blues complimentary color orange and sets off the blue. The green is nice too but I think the blue would be best...however that pink is absolutely amazing! ;)

Custom is custom, don't forget. (do the pink!) LoL...
 
Personally the dark green looks best with the armor. Counting that it is black with some blue markings in it. Along with the green I think a black jumpsuit and neck seal would work well. It would add more of a secret operative to your mando.
 
It is your project so you choose what you like best; it's only our personal opinion. My armor I am actually thinking of going with a dark green for the vest though the rest of my armor will be red and black with the jump-suit black and possibly the pants white. It's all on you dude. Can't wait to see the finished product.
 
I agree with Commander720! The dark green vest and the black suit and neck seal would be pretty sweet.
 
What color does the armor look like to everyone? Commander720 said it looked black, but the main color is brown, with a blue under that, then silver. Does it look brown to anyone? Maybe I have to take some pics outside for the color to show?
 
Now that you mention it yes it does look brown. Pink and brown may not go together well but it is your armor and your own decision on what you put into it. Dark green vest would go well with the armor as it does remind me of one of those Camo troopers you see on Kashyyyk during the Clone Wars. But again this is your armor. I look forward to seeing your finished product.
 
That pink was just a goofy extreme I did. I am thinking the vest greenish, and the flight suit dark blueish. Or the other way around. I am starting to think I want a darker tone to the whole costume. I only have photoshop at work right now, so I can't put up new pics until tomorrow...
 
I did some more photoshop work, but was left upset. I know these are just to get an idea, but the pic looked so much better on the screen I have at work. All the pics look different on my home computer. I guess maybe I should just decide and start with some dye. I don't like the way this pic looks anymore, but this is kinda the color combo I am feelin right now, but it could change in 10 minutes. Also I will weather it up.
(pay no attention to the girth belt, sorry)
