Should I resin my armor?

Hi everybody! I've been lurking for some time and have started my build a few weeks ago, hopefully done in time for halloween! I made my chest armor out of paperboard so it won't crease like cardboard would when I go to shape it. I have most if it done and shaped to my liking and was wondering, should i put fiberglass resin on it to strengthen it up and stuff before I paint it? Or should it be fine?

I feel that it is strong enough for my liking but im afraid that the paint will cause it to warp and whatnot. What are your thoughts?

well... if you want the armor for more than halloween, I'd say it's worth the extra effort of reinforcing it with fiberglass resin to reduce the risk of warping if not by pain then over time. If it's just for halloween, it should be fine as is.
