Hey im new i have a few questions

Hey every one!
Ok I want to make a fantasy elf helmet (kinda like LOTR) and I want to make it out of fiberglass.
I have no clue how so is there a tutorial on how?
If there is no tutorial then ill just ask the next question.
When you start on a helmet do you sculpt out the pices with clay then put a layer of fiberglass on one side? Because say if i need a round pice how would I do that?

Help will be greatly appreciated!
