Girth belt-final dyeing method query

Got the belt from Equestrian in white mohair. I saw and read quite a lot of threadsabout dyeing methods and finally I got loss with all of these stuff.

Is there anybody who can sum up the ultimate dyeing method....:confused :confused

It is pretty simple. Get your girth belt, buy some rite dye (I use scarlet), boil some water in a large pot (I think I used like 2 gallons of water), add the dye and stir for about an hour. After an hour take the girth belt out and hang it to dry, I have heard of some people nailing them to a board so that they do not shrink, but when I did mine it did not shrink much at all by the hanging method.

For those who bought the girth belt from Equestrian, does it need to be soaked in Acetone first?
