General Tru-Color Paints

Anyone use their RR paints before? Looking for substitutes for polly scale and floquil colors.

I ordered several of their equivalent colors to test out. Some of them are pretty close to the Floquil or Polly Scale namesakes. They're acetone based though, and since I do most of my detail work topically, they don't self-level nearly as well and brush strokes were more apparent.
So for me, they're a no go unfortunately.

I purchased several bottles of the Tru-Color paints and compared them to the old Floquil and Polly Scale colors, many aren't even close. I'll have to scan my swatches and post them here on the boards.

Basically you should avoid them at all costs. The only color that was relatively close was Concrete, but I wouldn't recommend it.

Thanks guys. Really disappointing to hear. I was about to do some touchups and found that some of my Floquil paints were dried out. I found this Floquil color chart which gives some recommendations for comps, but not exact matches.

Very cool list! I've spent a few hundred dollars lately researching replacement colors. I'll have to try some of these out.
