Just wanted to share this project I started by using some blemished Jango shells. Eventually they'll be for my son's SE Boba. I'll continue to dial in the detailing as much as possible before paint. Please let me know if there are any suggestions.
I know your not asking this question, but on the topic of CC Boba gauntlets, I have no doubt if you start knocking them out you'll have a tonne of folk knocking on yr door, i for one will be one of em'. This includes armour . The CC look really does give a metal look and feel, my NME cold cast JP is so convincing people tap it out of curiosity... my two bobs worth anyways..
Haha. Thanks guys. I'll see after my son uses them at C7, when I can find time to drop these into some silicone.
I hand made and added a few of the greeblies. I'm trying to finish these off as soon as possible to get them over to Sleepalot for a paint makeover.
Two things I'm unsure of: the width of the channel on the back inside of the right gauntlet, as well as the size of the protruding rectangle at the side of the rocket on the right gauntlet. Any "more experienced" opinions are appreciated.
Thanks, -L
So what do you do when your 9 year old daughter says "I want to wear some armor too" after she's seen you spend a ridiculous amount of time building a pair of gauntlets for her brother's C7 Boba suit?...I spend an entire day building gauntlets for her... and then ship them and a partially painted kids Boba helmet to Sleepalot for him to apply his awesome painting skills. The pic with the full sized Jango gauntlet is for sizing reference. The child size nylon missile was made by Darkside. The flamethrower housing is a one piece hollow fiberglass cast. To make it easier for her to put these on, I decided to use the exposed hinge/hidden pin closure, as well as extended the pin handles to make them easier to locate and grab.
Trying to make progress today on the kids ROTJ before shipping them out tomorrow. Thanks goes out to Redkraytdragon for the calc pad and dental expander ...
Couldn't have done it without your parts. They were both a breeze to clean up and I hope you didn't mind me cutting your calc pad down. Thank you brother!
So my daughter's ROTJ gauntlets are painted. I know it's not as good or as accurate as most members' finishes, but I'm satisfied with them for kids versions...
These gauntlets were simply fun to work on. These are well made with very little prep work and the fiberglass and quality of materials make it very durable. These are modified Jango gauntlets but just a few modifications and these would make a GREAT pair Boba Fett gauntlets.(Personally I'd love to own a pair myself) and as you've seen with Cruzer's work and how fast he works in the shop, these are just.great. No complaints at all and honestly I'd love to work on more pairs for the future.
These are wrapped up, painted, and ready for Cruzer's finishing touches before C7.
