Making the Ammo Belt

I noticed a lot of people using P-leather/vinyl to make the ammo pouches for the belt. But can you use it for the actual belt as well? I find it will be too thin .

Fold it over on itself to double the thickness, add something like card board in the middle to stiffen it if it's still too flimsy.

The original ammo belt was made out of white vinyl and was painted brown. It was roughly a 6" wide strip that was folded into quarters to get the 3" width which was stitched in place.

I used exactly this method following batninjas ammo belt tutorial and it come out great good and strong and no sagging

I scaled it for my son's project and then covered leather for the actual belt portion. Wife got by without the sewing foot he mentions but it was a bit of trial and error.
