Lemorseaplumes ESB Fett build (WIP)

Flight suit color looks wonderful.
Thank you sir ! Nice to see you again.

We are trying to organize a big outdoor shooting session, on the WWII landing beaches in Normandy next January with SW cosplayers from different French associations. I hope to be at the level to represent our favorite bounty hunter well.

New hose in place !

Keep working on the details.
Painted the blue and red on the left gauntlet keypad and give both gauntlets a small weathering with black lavish to give more texture.

I have a question for you Fett Specialists : should the two darts on the right gauntlet be painted red or black ? I have seen both.

I'm sure there scene specific but the 501st CRL says...
  • Darts are the actual Michell sweep arm parts or direct metal replicas.
    • The tips of the two outside darts are weathered black in color, the two inside darts are unaltered.

Thank you Krewkid82, I do have seen this description on the CRL and mine are painted black but I would like to know why some builder paint them red.

I’m in the 501st with my ESB kit being approved and I can honestly say I threw that CRL in the trash. Comb through reference photos of the actual ESB suit and you’ll be just fine. I would also recommend checking out OrdMantells build thread he has a ton of in-depth information on his build and he is taking this hobby to a whole new level. Now as far as the darts go I went with a maroonish color similar to what’s on the jetpack piano keys.

Hello everyone,

I'm super proud to share with you the work we set up a few days ago with other Star Wars enthusiasts from the west of France.

Our idea was to carry out a scripted photo shoot outdoors, taking the imperial period as a setting.

While preparing the project, we realized that this type of initiative was actually quite rare among SW cosplayers. You have to agree to expose your build, which is more of a giant model than a functional costume, to the weather and the risks of outdoor trooping.

Speaking of, the weather was particularly atrocious, with constant showers which ended up pushing us to shoot in the rain. But the light was perfect and the rain drops gives a very interesting texture to the surfaces of the armors.

The spot chosen for the shooting is the beach of Arromanches, in Normandy, where you can still see the remains of the artificial port (known as "Port Mulberry") set up by the allies after the DDAY landing. These unusual structures sitting on the sand definitely have a Star Wars vibe.

Nothing could have been achieved without the talent of Barry's Photography. This Star Wars fan put all his energy and know-how into producing the most cinematic images possible, with very little post-production.

I will only post a few photos here but you can discover the full album here.

All photo rights belong to Barry's Photography, and I publish here with his permission.

Hope you like it !

Didn't post here since january and didn't put any effort in my build since 6 months...
But we are reorganizing some room at the house this summer and I will soon be able to put the suit on a mannequin in my home office.

I guess it is gonna be the occassion to make some improvement on the build.
I am not forgetting you all guys and all the precious advices you gave me during this crazy building year. Good to be part of this community.

Just a new picture to make this thread alive : me and the guys on the beach, Scariff style.

Yeah, these are awesome! I recall the photographer posting these on the Star Wars Cosplayers Facebook Group earlier this year. The landscape of where you're at is absolutely gorgeous! I made a comment that the photographer should do some pro photoshop and add in some Star Wars vehicles. Maybe Slave I parked on the cliff in the distance or a Star Destroyer hovering in the sky or a Speeder Bike parked on the sand. I even took a pic, doctored it up and shared it with the photographer....

I'm in no way a pro photoshoper, so I'm certain a lot more work would need to be done to make the Star Destroyer be believable. But you kinda get the idea. I didn't even notice it the first time around, but he musta added in the 2nd sun in that pic! .....Cool!

That aside, these are really really well done! I'd love to take part in a photo shoot like this. I reside in Washington State and we got us some stunning nature features too. I thought about getting a photographer to shoot some up against our Mt. Rainier....

Maybe you should join already and you can have those guys on speed dail like I do!!!

Thanks Iron ! Beside the second moon, there was no psot production or effects in the shoots. It's a full job to make those credible, even if your destroyer didn't look bad at all. But the Normandy beach landscape offers a very "Starwarsian" effect, specially with the horrible weather we dealed with. I got to admit it is very stressful to put your 2500 € build under rain and salty water at 5°C, but the wet element offers a nice texture. We plan to do a second one next year, hopefully with more people (looking for a Boushh, a Bossk or a Zuckuss to go full scum and vilainy).

Washington states looks so gorgeous ! Mt. Si would be a perfect Mt Tantiss in Wayland in the se Trawn trilogy, to put a garnison of troopers with local. But for Fett, I find it is more suitable to put him in urban places rather than into the wild.

UPGRADE TIME !

I knew from the beginning that my first homemade shoes were a temporary solution...

And I finally found a pair of Man of War boots. Just my size with metal spikes included !

Can't wait to paint them ESB style. Any advice will be welcome ;)
