Hello Fellow Fett’s,
I was curious what folks are using for helmet Strapping? Specifically around the top of the head.

I have seen those decorative foam inserts, but I’m more interested in something like what you’d find inside a construction helmet or Military Helmet.

Thanks,

This is my FPH2 with a military style strap system from eBay. If you want a vintage style more like the original in the ESB you can go on eBay and find vintage UK Climbing Helmets. Ultimate Climbers helmet or Joe Brown helmets.

Well that didn’t take me long, they seem to be plentiful and cheap too.

Unless there is something else needed for this I’ll grab one tonight.

It looks like the pictured suspension is held in by Chicago screws, epoxied in the proper locations. Same idea that some use to hold T-visors in.
Epoxy the male part to the helmet, place webbing hole over it,place a rubber washer then the female part, tighten.
If you look at the photo at 7:00 position, you can see the set up.

Later I intend on putting in a servo for the range finder.

Also I see that the eBay listing I put up doesn’t include the sweat brow band. I guess I’ll have to get one of those to, eh?
