Helmet cracking repair

I purchased a cc helmet kit from anime fan awhile back, I'm jus now gettig around to beginning my paint up on the bucket. I discovered a small crack on the mandible (face mask ) down toward the bottom next to where the vizor goes, any suggestions on how to repair this prior to prep work

I would use a small grinder to grind the crack out while keeping some smooth radius to the grind out. Then use JB weld to fill the ground area and let cure. Sand smooth and refill again and repeat. It's probably only in the CC layer, so only go as deep as you have to to remove the crack. I did similar to the back of my Jango CC lid that had spiderweb cracks in the CC layer.
