gcn's Asok GMH ESB Build

Been a long while since I've posted one of these.

I recently acquired a Cold Cast resin GMH helmet from a member here on the boards, and I began the conversion to ESB.

Bought my brand new dremel and get ready to work on some new helmets... MSH3 and my GMH.

First I take the time to Fiberglass the GMH

And time to trim the visor...

Working on the fine details now.. Removing the Borden Connector so I can place a metal piece in its place.

The helmet definitely needs some major body work, and we must remove all of the Pre-Production 2 damage.

Oh this sucks, the ear caps don't lay flat. These ear caps are made by Fettpride, so they're not warped, the helmet is... going to need to grade this now.

Using a griding stone I get to work, I think it came out pretty good.

Now the major body work is all completed, all I need to do is add the correct ESB damage to the helmet and I can prime it for painting.

What did you use to create the fiberglass? Epoxy or polyester resin? What brand?

I just used Bondo brand, nothing fancy. Just their typical resin and fiberglass cloth.

Did you fiberglass the entire dome or just up to the point in the pictures?

I saw it up the sides and a little bit into the dome but wasn't sure if you are supposed to go across the entire dome or not

It's totally worth it too, I don't know why anyone would own just a resin cast helmet. You're just asking for it to get warped and misshapen.
